There are like 5 stores in LA. There should probably be another 2 or 3 since LA has such a huge population. I don't know what kind of finances are need to open up an electronic store as huge as Fry's. Anybody knows?

Colorado, right outside Denver, opening before Thanksgiving.

    Then San Antonio, Texas.

Wow this is out dated...No more Colorado plans or San Antonio.

There probably won't be a store opening up for a very long time. Funny how bad the economy can shift in a year and a half. But I did hear something about Scottsdale, AZ will be the next one IF ANYTHING, most likely not for a while though. My SM Milam was suppose to be the new SM over at that new one that was suppose to open but I guess he isn't leaving anymore.

Seems too close to Phoenix. I'd wager we continue to expand eastward.

Just like the TV show that something I will never tell. Corny I know, but it makes me laugh.

I did hear about this site from work. Ironically I came across it when I was looking for store going out of business. Googled "Fry's Electronics Closing" and up popped this site.

Now I'm thinking of possibly starting my own blog about the gossip of Fry's 25. You know how bad it gets there...everyone says they hate gossip but as long as its not about them they don't care. Everyone is a hypocrite on the topic.

Scottsdale can't support another Fry's, we all drive to the one in Phoenix or Tempe, which are both in 'central' locations to the Valley. Tucson could probably use one.Superhero!

People in Riverside either drive to Anaheim or San Marcos.. I mean a lot of people from the Riverside area actually drove to Anaheim.. That would cut into Anaheim's sales.. but on the other hand increase sales in Riverside.Hiya kids. Here is an important message from your Uncle Bill. Don't buy drugs. Frys is smart because they keep their stores in massively populated areas and force everyone else to drive to them if they want to visit. They could, possibly successfully, open 3 stores per small city, like Best Buy, but they play a game of supply and demand.Superhero!

They just need one somewhere in the desert area. It is growing like crazy there because its so cheap to live there. I'm sure if they built one out there sales for either store won't be affected that much. There are like 10 Best Buys out there anyway why not be part of that competition. I mean Fry's are every where in LA.

They had a location in Ontario planned for a while (store number was in the low 20s), but the developer doubled and land price and Fry's pulled out.
It would have been right across from Ontario Mills mall, which has blown up enormously in recent years. Bad move on Fry's part IMO.FrysSucks.com - FrysSucks.com - FrysSucks.com -

Fry's has land every where. They have a few properties in Riverside county already and I think a couple more properties in San Diego County. But like I said they have land everywhere. They like to wait a few years before they decide for sure if they will build on one of the locations they own.

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA should be a prime candidate for a Fry's store. All the other stores like CompUSA, Radioshack and such have been closed. The only "electronic's" store available to the population is an overpriced Best Buy, making them the ONLY "competition." There aren't any stores, even small ones, that carry electronic components. Bakersfield is the the 3rd largest inland city in California and one of the fastest growing city in California. There is a University here as well as several other colleges. I was a Salesman of Electronic components in the San Marcos store before moving here, this city would be perfect for Fry's, and would be very successful here. As of 2009, the population was estimated at 333,719 within the city limits, making it the 11th largest city in California and the 57th largest city in the United States according to U.S. Census estimates. The Bakersfield Metropolitan Statistical Area has a population of 800,458 making it the 64th largest metropolitan area in the country. There are 3 Wal-marts here, as well as another new Super Wal-Mart being built, each one of them at all hours of operation have huge lines; a minor illustration of how immense the population is compared to the lack of retailers. Many people, and a lot of industry and money in this city, but there is a major need for large stores to tap into it.

That does sound like a good gamble for Fry's but during this "economic crisis" we are going through, they won't be opening any stores in a VERY long time.
