While the "bailout" has some good ideas that should be used, overall I feel we are throwing gasoline on a fire. Slow burning gasoline. A recession will happen, a recession needs to happen, this will just make it worse when it does. The market must correct.

Quite an interesting take on explaining how we got here. Seems that legislation that the Carter Administration enacted (Community Reinvestment Act) is at the root. Add into that "enhancements" made under the Clinton Administration which brought about the explosion of sub-prime lending. Unfortunately, the proper checks weren't put into place, and too many banks (wanting to make lots of money) started lending to people that really didn't qualify for the loans. And here we are.

Hopefully, Congress will have the huevos to put the proper regulations in place to avoid this type of fiasco in the future.

True to the extent that McCain seriously said the whole thing was "in our heads". He wont be able to pull us out of a slump he's never experienced. He leads a very sheltered life. Well...I guess that makes me an idiot. An educated idiot, but an idiot none the less. Obama is an excellent orator, but way too liberal in his social, economic, domestic and foreign policy views. I could not in good conscience vote for a candidate that supports raising taxes, is pro-abortion, and does not understand the potential threat that leaders such as Ahmadinejad pose.

I "hang around" with several military veterans - many that served in Vietnam. They have a sound understanding of McCain's perspective and what he went through. Oops...sorry AyaHu, they're all Texans. I know you like us as much as you do Alaskans.

I hate the elections I think a better way of solving issues is to put a kind of draft in place for policy changing political government work. Everyone with enough education on a meaningful iq test gets put into a raffle type deal. The test will also determine if you get whatever degree you were going for (you take a real life evaluation test to prove your decision making skills in your field for each degree you apply for). than each month there would be a draft for a new section of government so each section will rotate out about 6 months each. This will make it so everyone will get there say as long as they are intelligent and have proven abilities in making good sound decisions and a us citizen.Looking for my head ............... yeah the eight valve one yeah ....

You do not live in Arizona, or know him, how can you possibly know how experienced he is?
1 in 5 troops come back from the military with mental instability which leads to long term mental handicaps. Mccain loves showing off what a POW he is. "WASHINGTON — Roughly one in every five U.S. troops who have survived the bombs and other dangers of Iraq and Afghanistan now suffers from major depression or post-traumatic stress, an independent study said Thursday. It estimated the toll at 300,000 or more."

And by the way, I lived in Texas, remember???? And my older sister lives there, remember??? She's a full blood texan, she was born there, raised there for a hefty portion of her life until we were born. AyaHu - Yes, I remember you lived in Texas. I was trying to inject a little humor, but it obviously wasn't taken that way. Lighten up. Although I might agree that neither candidate is the best/ideal choice, based on what I stated earlier about Obama (i.e. pro-abortion stance, tax increases, not understanding the real threat that countries like Iran pose), I can say with a clear conscience that McCain would be a wiser choice.

As to McCain's experience, he has served in both the House and Senate under President's Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton and Bush Jr. and worked with all. That, and his military experience, I believe gives him a better rounded view of both US and international affairs.

Wait... you dont like him because he's pro abortion? Are you a woman? You shouldn't have a choice to vote on a subject like that, how could you possibly not be pro-abortion if you are a man? You could not possibly understand what would drive an abortion, you could never make the decision to keep a baby that you are not carrying, so I hope you arent implying youd vote based on something like that.
Im anti birth control abortion, pro abortion, however.
I like friendly debate, so if you have any thoughts on the matter or any others go for it.

As to Sasquatch's comments about Sarah Palin's stance, there are arguments on both sides of the pro-life fence regarding abortions if a woman is raped. One side says that an abortion would be justified as a means of self-defense. The other side reminds us that it is possible to put the child up for adoption.

remember if you are aborting donate to t-cell research it will make people live longer and create bigger over population problems. I know human season is now officially open. Remember with high population areas like cities, i would use a pistol otherwise a rifle, and for those of us with lousy shot, a sawed off shotgun. Remember the lean ones will be chewier after cooking and remember to thoroughly disinfect any homeless before smoking, we want to keep a healthy population.

This will not only reduce the population problem but strengthen the human race as a whole.Looking for my head ............... yeah the eight valve one yeah ....

Adoption is one solution, but few would take it. There's the inherent risks that come with pregnancy, plus the physical toll it takes on the body. Imagine the shame of carrying the child for nine months, a constant reminder of what happened. The emotional and mental abusive may end up being worse than the actual crime that was committed. I feel sorry for all the women out there that have had to endure something along these lines.

Sasquatch - I'd agree with your statement. I did a quick Google to find out the percentage of pregnancies that result from rape/incest. Stastics are sketchy at best, but the best WAG is somewhere around 1%. Please don't misinterpret what I'm saying. The perps of rape/incest deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law...and then some. My point is that the pro-abortion proponents will always site this as a reason to support abortion. Statistically, it doesn't work.

Yes, but I like Mexico, and no mexicans have ever shot at or attacked me at all, and therefore, I hold no grudge and actually harbour a deep love for their country. Most people (And mccain is most people) cannot look their attacker in the eye and feel love for them. You cant REALLy get over the idea of a PEOPLE, an army of this type of people trying to kill you, killing your best friend, torturing you, capturing you, whatever it is. A life in the city or state custody is a life worse than death. You may not know it, or have no experience with it, but I had a friend long ago who went from foster home to foster home, her mother was a mentally retarded drug addict who gave her up for adoption. While I knew her she was molested by her foster father. That wasnt including however many she'd been through. Not just that, but imagine trying to actually GROW UP or BE RAISED in a foster home or a group home? I wish more people would be able to face the realities of just what is it like to be in state custody. I could rant all day on that.

Thats what I mean, people who have abortions cause their boyfriend got them pregnant, once, twice, three times, thats BIRTH CONTROL. Abortion isnt birth control, its for people whos best friends take them on a camping trip, their first camping trip, drug their SODA CAN, and their best friend's dad AND said best friend take turns raping her. Its for births caused by that.

It's also for whore bitch crackhead chicks who's babies would have lives worse than death. Ive met children who were forced to grow up that way, and all they do is commit suicide. Or attempt to, since I met them after they'd been accidentally found. Hah!

A life worse than death IS worse than death.

Which is why I am pro abortion.

Also, I would like to take a moment to point out McCain lives in AZ, in a rich area, in a NICE ASS HOUSE, with his millionaire wife. He claimed the recession was IN OUR HEADS until they finally had to pass that bill, remember? He has NO IDEA what its like to be out on the streets right now.
