Nobody really cares about attachment here at this store, not gonna mention which just cause I'd rather they not be anal like other stores ::COUGH::FREMONT::COUGH::
No idea why we still bother with this crap; no matter how many times the Monster people tell me that "it's expensive, but WORTH IT." No, there will NEVER be a time where it is justified for an HDMI cable to be $120, unless this single cable can hook up my PS3, flatscreen, laptop, and DVR all together in one single cord without creating a mess...and make me a tuna salad sandwich, no crust.
Stick with the 6' or 10' HDMI cable that Fry's sells for $5-8 (half that with AP) and laugh at the salesman's face when they try to sell you a $70 HDMI cable.
The people who compare the cheap $8 HDMI cable to the best in the industry $100 Monster HDMI cable are the same people who...
1. People who say you can only see at 15 frames per second. 2. People who can't tell the difference between 15 fps and 150 fps 3. People who can't tell the difference between 2D and 3D 4. People who can't tell the difference between mono and stereo music 5. People who can't tell the difference between VHS and DVD, and/or the difference between DVD and Bluray 6. People who can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p 7. People who can't tell the difference between SDTV and HDTV, besides physical size. 8. People who can't tell the difference between high-speed internet and dial-up 9. People who can't tell the difference between MP3 and CD 10. People who can't tell the difference between MP3 and WMA
And now they are the same people who can't tell the difference between a cheap HDMI cable and a Monster HDMI cable!
OK, asdf, there is undoubtedly a difference between Monster cables and generic ones, but the real question is, how many average customers SERIOUSLY need it. If it's just your average Joe/Jane who just wants a picture from his computer to his computer, I highly doubt he/she would really care for that improvement given how big a price jump there is. Maybe if customer was some HD video rendering editor or professional photographer, there would be much more reason to suggest Monster, but given how high the commission %, it's clear the average person is getting ripped off.
Monster is over-rated and definitely over-priced. While I might agree that buying the cheapest isn't the best, paying premium for the Monster name is just plain foolish. Just added an Apple TV to our entertainment system, with a high end HDMI cable that the Apple Store had. Paid $20 for the 4' cable (vs. the $45 that Monster charges for their "low end" version).
We all know monster cable is overpriced but I dont know why salesmen complain about the push of the cable. It seems most stores out there dont even show a monster cable to a customer they just take them to the cheaper siig/accell ones immediatly when how do they know they will not buy the monster cable? PPL will buy monster cause it is a very well known brand for good and bad reasons.. but why the salesperson doesnt take them to it first always has confused me since they pay double if not more then the cheaper cable it makes them more money why dont they sell it!!!!!
