    Interesting - but...given the lack of HD space, there's not much you could do other than surf and e-mail.

    Thats one nice deal. Its a good deal because Ubuntu in reality will only take about a gig and a 1/2, and it also wouldn't surprise me if the OS itself came bundled with a slew of freeware programs. Not to mention all the free programs that are easily downloadable form Ubuntu's website. If this goes fully mainstream it could be the end of vista :face-smile:

    most of their programs arent that big in size anyway. Compared to vista and even windows xp.

    But there are cheap external HDs for that, or you can upgrade your internal while its on SALE at Fry's ;D

    SSD is more robust. I have a 32gb flash drive. External drives are clunky and prone to failure. I wouldn't mind Ubuntu. I don't plan to do anything crazy except visit a few forums and read Digg. There is always WINE to run winapps,i am a worm.

    tips for free hard drives buy hd from fried electronics dissasemble drive insert fireball gl return to fries for refund report serial to external drive manufacturer so frys looses the money and not them.:face-smile:Looking for my head ............... yeah the eight valve one yeah ....

    yep not that hard besides fries gets a different drive back so its fair the volume of material is the same anyway maybe even more so you could say you are actually giving to fries instead of taking from them.Looking for my head ............... yeah the eight valve one yeah ....
