    Is it literally called a chevron, if I was to say input < img src for example, and I was spelling out the words, I'd say CHEVRON I - M- G - Space - S-R-C

    Or would I say GREATERTHAN?

    It's for work :<Superhero!

    Are referring to the entity escaped input? If so (without the spaces):
    Greater Than, > is: & g t ;
    Less Than, < is: & l t ;

    edit: & looks strange here; it is the ampersand symbol.

    edit 2: I reread that - If you were saying it, I think greater than or less than should suffice. Left chevron or right chevron is accurate, through I think that's less used.

    This was annoying me greatly, so I had to look around too since I'm not a coder. The preferred term seems to be "angle bracket." So, I'd say "left angle bracket I - M- G - Space - S-R-C." Chevron seems to be used interchangeably, but sometimes chevron is used to refer to a double bracket (>>), so I'd stick with left or righ angle bracket.

    "Less than, more than," are probably easier for others to comprehend, but I say chevron because I'm dangerous like that.

    I would have went with the angle bracket.. sounds better and it does not get confused with the Chevron gas stations.. :PHiya kids. Here is an important message from your Uncle Bill. Don't buy drugs. Become a pop star, and they give you them for free!

    Most of my audience is dumb enough not to know how to install software, so I'm certain chevron or greater than would have confused them. Instead I said the code, and said type it EXACT as shown hereSuperhero!

    From what I read on Wikipedia, he got it for Schödinger equation, which he discovered/contrived in 1926 and received the award for it in 1933. The whole cat thing didn't happen until 1935 so I guess not. Of course, Wikipedia isn't a very reliable source, but I am too lazy to look anywhere else, haha.

    It's so true. The average compile time per server is around 4 minutes. It's nice to put all the code in a fat ramdisk partition and compile.

    Testing changes are completely automated. You trim out the bull shit to only coding and having fun.
