I recently repaired my own LCD TV for $50 with a new power supply. The common thing to go wrong on LCD TV are power supply or inverter. The back-light going out is pretty slim since its CLF

Most of these parts sites gut out TV's which have broken screens or bad pixels. Parts are near brand new.

I do not recommend a fake warranty or Performance service contract from Frys.

Used to be an AV Supervisor. They essentially don't actually cover dick in the first year and will constantly refer you to the manufacturer. the only time in the first year you get any aid from Fry's if it's a power surge or something else the manufacturer doesn't cover, like (in LG's case) burn-in.

It's only after the first year when they begin to actually cover what they promise to cover, at which point in time they essentially just swap out old with new and put you on the Manufacturer again.
