    i can tell you that they will be doing there normail 8 page ad on saturday this year. They will will have a 2 page ad on thursday and 2 page ad friday. i will have the BF ad tomorrow night. I know this because i work for a major newspaper and i handle the fry's electronics account.

    I'm not sure how you can make it worth my while but i will have the pre-thanksgiving ad in the next hour (wednesday) and usually when that happens i get the thursday/friday ad. Then tomororow i will have saturday's ad. I'll keep you posted

    What could Fry's possibly have on sale that would make anyone want to go there? I can't think of anything that could be worse than going to Fry's on Black Friday (or any other day of the week, but that's a different issue).:face-devil-grin:

    Fry's usually just takes everyone else's deals and beats them. They actually have a lot of loss-leaders which they lose money on because they just want people in the store

    Nothing....the Black Friday ad will be out on Thursday. Getting it a day or two early doesn't mean a hill of beans.

    Perhaps it does not mean anything to some, but it means plenty to others like me who plan thier shopping experience based on what sales are going to be out there. (i.e. - It lets us plan ahead and decide for ourselves if it's worth going to a certain retail store or not).

    @ ObiWan - Makes a world of difference to me... regardless of how you feel about Fry's. You're certainly entitled to your opinion of the retail chain, just as the rest of us shoppers are.

    @ Guest 58122 - You're right... the sale there is not that great this year :-(

    I miss the good ole days when they had stuff that you could get for dirt cheap (well with rebates... but still worth the trip).

    Thanks so much for emailing me the info. If you have Fridays/Saturdays Scans, I would love to have those too.

    Obiwan, they could have given you a 60" top of the line LED for a penny and you would be underwhelmed due to your hate/bias. As is, ad was decent, but none of the stores wowed me. Only thing I saw was a camera I bought at best buy 2 weeks ago on the fry's ad for 30 bucks cheaper.

    I wouldn't purchase a HDTV (or any other major piece of electronic equipment) from Fry's because of how they handle their merchandise. To say they're rough on it is being mild. That's not hate/bias, that's just common sense.  
     
    My point was that there were those here that got their panties all in a bunch when I questioned the need to get an advanced copy of their ad (I still maintain getting it a day early doesn't give you any advantage). Silly if you ask me. FWIW, I didn't see anything in Best Buy's ad that was really enticing either.
