We brought the Sony 53 inch LCD for $1500 plus the $200 extended warranty repair from Fry's 2.5 years ago, and the TV started having issue 3 weeks ago: blue/red lines along with a small weird flower liked image at the corner of TV. We called Fry's, and a service person came in and took at look at the TV for less than 5 minutes, and he told us we broke our TV although there was not any outside damage, and we told him that it's impossible, and we protect the TV very well, and don't allow anyone to touch the screen of the TV, so there is not even a little scretch at the TV.

No one called us back or left a message after the service person left after 3 weeks, and my husband called Fry's twice including the store manager tonight, and Fry's denied the claim, and they wouldn't pay us anything. The store manager insisted that we were the one to break the TV even there is no physical damage outside no matter how we explaint to him, and he also said that they can deny any claim even with or without outside damage to the TV, and we agreed to signedthe extended warranty contract initially when we brought the TV. We think this is totally unacceptable, but we didn't know what to do and very sad... can someone help us and let us know what to do? :face-crying:

The Repair person must have made some notations on the repair order. Post them here. Also ask the store to send another service tech for a second opinion, and see if the original sales person is still working at the store and get them involved.

The small flower-like image in the corner that you're describing sounds like an awful like a cracked LCD. If that is the case, then it's considered physical damage and isn't covered under any warranty.

Here's an example of what a cracked LCD may look like.

Thanks to those try to help. Fry's said that it would cause about $80 to send another tech to see the issue again. The tech came in for less than 2 minutes and really didn't say much but just it's like it can't be fixed.

We don't have the image like the one you posted, and it's a bright one. There is no way we have broken the TV since no one really tried to touch the screen before, and it looks like something explored internally, and Fry's tried to make that our responsibility. There is not even a scretch at the TV, so how can we broke the TV?

We are going to bring the TV to another store to get second opnion at our own expense. For sure we won't buy any Fry's extended warranty in the future.

I was a Service manager for a number of years, if definitely sounds like impact damage on your TV screen, something not covered by the warranty.

Do you have any kids in the house? Impact damage does not leave scratches, and things don't explode internally causing damage like that. Something struck the screen.http://www.frysblackfriday.com
