    Phone: 425-5250200
    800 Garden Ave North
    Renton, Washington,
    U.S.A.

I waited in line at the Fry's store in Renton, WA (I was on vacation visiting family in the area) for the after thanksgiving sale.. we finally completed all our shopping and got in a huge line to pay for our items.. it was like a 3hr wait.. I was approached by a sales rep and told I could be processed in a VIP line and checked out immediately if I paid $200.

I though this was a scam or a sales person trying to make a quick buck.. so I asked him.. if this was offical policy or just him trying to make quick $$ he said no.. I then sent my son to the customer service desk, to both verify this and to report it... To my surprise the customer service desk, said it was a VIP service the store was offering and yes it was legit.. I refused.

Quite Upset, I contacted King5 TV News (king5.com) to report this, they sent a news crew to the store and did a story on it.. yesterday.. (see the website for complete story or google search on it) they confimed many other customers experienced the same thing and interviewed some of the employees .. who said (quote) 'oh were no longer doing that anymore'

the store manager claimed it wasn't policy that all employees involved would be fired. but I believe it was... a friend of mine went to Best Buy.. the did something similar.. they had a door buster Laptop.. for like $399.. but if you got the preinstalled software /optimization for like $500, you could line in a shorter seperate line. that went quicker.. but you at least got something for your $$.

One customer tried to buy a TV, by avoiding the line that was longer than the candy aisle. She got so mad at me that I wouldn't take her order when I was doing nothing, then I told her, "My light is on, we have a line, my customer is coming and won't want to wait another minute. If you can't wait in line, we can hold the item and you can come back tomorrow." I just wasn't in the mood for "I'm paying big $$ so you have to do what I say." For all I knew, the next customer in line also had a TV quote. Honestly, the nerve of some people. I've only ever taken one customer out of rotation and I got permission to do that because the poor soul had to catch a Christmas day flight that he didn't want to miss. I was told to do it quietly, did just that and never did it again.

It begs the question - does the Fry's "installer" know how to:
    1. Change and hide the SSID
    2. Enable MAC address filtering
    3. Choose the correct encryption, and understand the difference between WEP, WPA and WPA2
    4. Check to make sure the hardware firewall is enabled and ping requests are blocked

I need to start charging my friends for setting up their wireless.

you need nfs if you want to share files with hpux because hpux works with nfs they stopped making them in 2000. ..... but why i-scsi s.a.s. is better but you can almost do the same with a raid array that is set up properly and 2 gigabit nics.Looking for my head ............... yeah the eight valve one yeah ....

For small businesses that's fine. For larger businesses that need more performance... Fibre-Channel is nice, but pretty expensive. iSCSI is extremely cost effective. Depends on the budget, depends on the database(s), depends on a million other things. Think of iSCSI as middle, upper-middle class.

there are 2 different servers both running fedora with a rhel kernel one is master the other is a slavewhich just runs a bunch of scripts to mask itself as the master if the master goes down then if it comes back up runs a bunch of other scripts so we dont get net conflicts. its only failover not a clustered failover and we are still fiddling with a vmware made by sun to reduce the number of systems we have.Looking for my head ............... yeah the eight valve one yeah ....

get a couple old pcs about p4 so you can use large size hard drives set up 2 1t servers boxes with a gbit linux router (4 gbit eithernet cards in a linux box) in betweenfirst learn how to rout have a ping go into the router and come out somewhere now make a counter with it make it do 30 figure 8's then run in reverse etc after you have figure out everything about routing get a job at google done unless you want to see how to make a load balancing system over 2 1gbit cards to make a 2gb backbone then research virtualization the xen kernel does not do the best job it will work but not very fast it uses a p2 chipset and cant emulate gbit se we are fiddleing with suns and quem i think its called. then figure out how to set up a nas spanned and install an os on it accross the network now you have a cluster spanned across two machines you can even add the router as another.Looking for my head ............... yeah the eight valve one yeah ....

I basically have 240 vlans and behind each vlan is a router which are all setup with the same ip and subnet. I have 5 - 50-port gbit switches behind one linux box. The linux box can see the 240 vlans but what I want to do is to be able to access every computer behind the 240 vlans though the linux box. When I set my linux routing table to choose to be connected to one of 240 vlans but I want simultaneous access to everything on the network. How would I be able to do that?i am a worm.
