It depends on what you want out of it...do you want battery life more, does size matter more? I have no idea what you want. But I can tell you that I love my Dell, too bad the model that I have has been discontinued for three years.

Gateways now aren't that bad anymore. The fact that they currently have a similar rating to that of HP is kinda interesting. Yeah yeah, some of you will think that HP sucks (including me), but in the overall picture, that is pretty good. Why is there an S in Lisp?

I know what AyaHu's referring to with regards to Dell. They've had their QC issues in the past, and, unfortunately, it seems to have reared it's ugly head again. I have several friends that bought Dell laptops that have had problems. These have been mostly their "Studio" line.

But, like I've said elsewhere, I haven't really had any problems with any of the Gateway's we've bought. When it comes time to upgrade or replace my current laptop, I'll probably take a harder look at Levono's line, as they have several models geared towards photographers. That, or make the leap to the Dark Side, and get a MacBook Pro.

I have heard of problems with their Studio line as well. Which is a shame because they don't look half bad.

"As Bruce Montag, a Dell technologist, explains in his blog, HDMI is considered a consumer electronics interface, best thought of as the replacement for S-video and component connections in a home theater. DisplayPort, on the other hand, is the digital interface positioned to succeed DVI, VGA and LVDS."

    Hahaha.
